Insulated Folding Shutter Doors

Insulated folding doors are designed for larger openings or exposed locations, where its robust construction makes it particularly tolerant of high wind conditions. Its flush faced design renders a high aesthetic appearance, with the energy saving benefits of an insulated construction.

Door panels

Construction from double skin steel sheets filled in with high density insulating material.  Panels are typically 40 to 65mm thick and are manufactured in various designs to suit clients’ individual requirements. Partially or fully glazed versions are available.

Top Track

Galvanised steel rolled section forming a box-type track in which pulleys mounted on top of the door panels run.  A branch track is incorporated to allow the door to stack correctly.

Bottom Track

A galvanised steel bottom track is recessed into the floor and acts as a guide.

Door Arrangements

Pairs of panels make up each door or half door (between two and ten on each side).  The door is face fixed to the inside and the panels stack at 90 degrees to the opening when open.

Finish

Galvanised as standard.  Polyester powder coating to a range of standard RAL colours is available at no extra cost.

Weight

Varies dependant on door construction but typically 45kgs per m2

Operation

Electrical operation is via a three phased geared motor mounted on the top track at one or both ends.  Push button controls are provided at low level and emergency manual operation is via hand chain which is disconnected at low level.
