Industrial Door Systems employ 128 members of staff which consists of a fleet of 50 engineers situated nationwide.
Currently Industrial Door Systems have the following fleet of mobile workshops:
- 4 situated in Scotland
- 10 situated in Southern
- 10 situated in Dewsbury
- 10 situated in West Bromwich
- 16 situated in Manchester

Technology Upgrades
IDS have implemented a new bespoke PDA system across all engineers that has helped improve all areas of the business.
There will be fail safe features on the software that will not allow engineers access to the reporting side of the app if certain criteria are not met before starting the job.


Our Portal
The software allows us to add pictures of damage and allows full reporting of the state of the equipment, from age, to condition of the door/equipment and prompts for details such as serial number of the equipment and location to help with sourcing spare for repairs required. It also allows for:
- Scheduled Service Dates
- Previous Job Information
- Copy Quotations
- Copy Invoices
Our Engineers
All IDS engineers are highly skilled, multi-disciplined and are fully conversant with all aspects of loading bay technology, electrical operating equipment and controls.
All IDS engineers adhere to IDS policies and procedures and safe systems of work, they continuously undertake the appropriate training to comply with the accreditations and client requirements.
IDS engineers hold the following:
- CSCS Cards
- PASMA Licences
- IPAF Licences
- PFS Competency Cards
- Regular DBS Checks

Health & Safety
Health and safety in the workplace is of the utmost importance to IDS. All health and safety matters are dealt with in a structured and regimented manner. Below is a list that highlights some of the processes IDS has in place to ensure the wellbeing of all members of staff and the public.
PPE issued to all IDS staff where applicable.
- PPE issued to all IDS staff where applicable
- Toolbox talks issued daily and documented monthly
- Local variation risk assessments are carried out on all jobs before work commences
- IDS are CHAS, Safe Contractor and Construction line accredited
- All accidents/incidents/near misses are reported to head office in Manchester
- Safe systems of work carried on all mobile workshops
- Specific RAMS carried out on quoted jobs
- All engineers hold current pass certificates for CSCS, Ipaf, Pasma and have harness and lanyard training for working at heights
- All mobile workshops and tools are checked weekly for wear and tear, faults and replaced where necessary
